Monarch G Insecticide Granular

Overview

Monarch G is formulated for easy application in lawns and playing fields where soil-dwelling pests cause damage. Its active ingredient moves into the soil profile after watering, creating a protective barrier that stops pests before they reach the roots.

Active Ingredients

Fipronil 0.5 g/kg

Classification: Broad-spectrum insecticide (Group 2B). Targets the central nervous system of target pests for rapid knockdown and long-term control.

Controls

Monarch G protects against soil-dwelling pests that feed on roots and underground stems, weakening turf and creating bare patches.

How to Apply

1. Spread Monarch G evenly over the lawn using a broadcast spreader or by hand.
2. Apply when pests are active (typically spring through early autumn) or when you observe pest damage.
3. Must be incorporated with at least 6 mm of rainfall or overhead irrigation immediately after application.
4. Incorporate immediately — without moisture the granules remain on the surface and will not work.

Important Information

• Timing: Apply spring through autumn when pests are active. Most effective when applied preventatively before pest damage is visible.
• Watering in: Mandatory. Must be incorporated with at least 6 mm of rainfall or overhead irrigation immediately after application. Without moisture the granules remain on the surface.
• Mowing: The label states no mowing restriction.
• Grass types: Safe on most lawn grasses. Test a small area first if you have rare or sensitive turf varieties.
• Repeat applications: The label states no repeat interval. Ant control generally requires more than one application, shifting to target active mounds, nests and trails as colony numbers fall.

Withholding Period: Do not graze treated turf, or feed turf clippings from any treated area to poultry or livestock.

Re-entry Interval: Do not allow entry into treated areas until the incorporating rainfall or irrigation has dried. This includes pets.
