Privacy Policy

The Lawn IQ Pty Ltd (ABN 48 685 251 978) trading as The Lawn IQ respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Identity and contact: name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address.
- Order and payment: what you ordered, your subscription plan and term, order history. We do not store your full card number. Payments are processed by our payment provider, who handles your card details directly.
- Lawn and property information you give us through GrowBot: your grass type, suburb, climate zone, sun and shade, irrigation and water access, soil type, lawn wear and use, lawn size, current lawn condition and problems, and whether children or pets use the lawn. We need this to build your plan, which is the core of the service.
- Account: your login details and subscription settings.
- Technical: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed and how you reached our site, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
- Communications: emails and messages between you and us, including support requests.
Why we collect it
- To build and update your personalised Growing Plan
- To take payment and manage your subscription
- To pick, pack and deliver your orders
- To provide support and answer your questions
- To meet our obligations for the supply of agricultural chemical products
- To improve our products, plans and website
- To send you marketing, where you have consented
Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary, with:
- Our payment provider, to process payments
- Freight carriers and fulfilment partners, to deliver your order
- Our email and marketing platform, to send you service and marketing messages
- Analytics and advertising providers, in relation to website usage
- Professional advisers, insurers and regulators, where we are required or permitted by law
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We do not sell your personal information.
Marketing
We only send marketing where you have consented or where the law otherwise permits, consistent with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing message includes a working unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential service messages about your deliveries, payments or plan.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart and session working, understand how the site is used, and measure advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of the site may not work properly without them.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your subscription is active and for 7 years afterwards, to meet tax, consumer law and chemical supply record keeping obligations. Your Growing Plan stays in your account for 90 days after cancellation, then we may archive it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls, encryption in transit, and using reputable providers. No system is completely secure. Tell us immediately at hello@thelawniq.com if you think your account has been compromised.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can access or correct most of your information directly in your account. To request access, correction or deletion, email hello@thelawniq.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and usually within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. If we refuse a request we will tell you why.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email hello@thelawniq.com and we will investigate and respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or by phone on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always on our website with the date it was last updated.
