Subscription Policy

This policy explains how The Lawn IQ subscription plans are billed, renewed and cancelled. It applies to our recurring plans โ€” Lawn Master, Lawn Master Lite, Family Favourite and Eco-Friendly Time Saver. It does not apply to our one-off 12-week plans or to individual products, which are single purchases and do not renew.

What you are buying

A Lawn IQ subscription is an ongoing lawn care plan built for your property. Products are delivered through the year โ€” normally four deliveries, one a quarter โ€” timed to what your lawn needs in that season.

It is not always exactly four. Where the quantities your lawn needs are small enough that a single shipment covers more than one quarter, you receive fewer, larger deliveries instead. Your schedule in your account always shows what is coming and when.

How you are billed

All plan prices on our site are in Australian dollars and include GST, shown as a single figure. The plan price you see, and the annual discount below, are GST-inclusive totals โ€” no GST is added at a later step.

You choose your billing cadence at checkout. Neither is chosen for you.

  • Quarterly. You pay for your first delivery when you order, then a fixed ongoing amount every 3 months, in advance. There is no minimum term and no lock-in: you can cancel at any time on the terms below.
  • Annual. You pay for the year up front, in one payment, and save 5% against the quarterly price. An annual plan is a committed 12-month term. Your price is locked for that term, every delivery in it is shipped and charged, and it cannot be cancelled part way through. Read the section on cancelling an annual plan below before you choose it.

Why the first payment is different

On a quarterly plan your first payment is usually higher than the ongoing amount. Two reasons, both shown to you before you pay:

  • Your opening delivery carries more product than a typical quarter, because a lawn starting a programme needs more than one that is already on it.
  • Any equipment on your plan โ€” a spreader, for example โ€” is charged once, in that first payment, and never again.

Every payment after the first is the ongoing amount shown on your plan.

Renewal

Your plan renews automatically until you tell us not to.

A quarterly plan is charged every 3 months and has no minimum number of terms. An annual plan is charged once for its 12-month term; at the end of that term it renews for another year unless you decline it before the term ends.

We email you 28 days, 21 days and 14 days before a term ends, so a renewal never arrives unannounced and you always have time to decide. Declining a renewal ends the next term โ€” on an annual plan it does not shorten the term you are already in.

Price changes

We re-price a plan at most once a year, at its renewal, to reflect what your lawn needs for the coming year and what those products cost.

On an annual plan your price is locked for the whole 12-month term. We do not increase it part way through, for any reason.

Where a price is going up, that change is set out in the 28, 21 and 14 day renewal emails described above, so you always have more warning than the cancellation window below requires. If we were unable to give you that notice in time, we do not increase your price at that renewal โ€” it stays as it is and any change is put to you properly at the next one.

We never apply an increase to a term you have already paid for.

Cancelling a quarterly plan

Cancelling is as easy as signing up. Either change your subscription settings in your account on our website, or email us at hello@thelawniq.com. We do not require a phone call, a retention conversation or a written letter.

  • More than 7 days before your next payment: that payment does not happen. Your plan continues to the end of the term you have already paid for, and then stops.
  • Within 7 days of your next payment: that delivery has already been prepared and its stock committed, so it still ships and is still charged. Your plan then stops one quarter later, at the end of that term.

The 7 days are counted in your property's own time zone, against the next billing date shown in your account.

You always receive every delivery you are charged for. We do not charge for a term and then withhold it โ€” which is also why an ordinary quarterly cancellation is not refunded: you get the term you paid for.

Cancelling an annual plan

An annual plan is a committed 12-month term and cannot be cancelled part way through. You pay for the year at the start, and every delivery in that year is shipped and charged. That commitment is the trade for the 5% discount and the locked price, and it is exactly why we also offer the quarterly plan with no lock-in. If you are not certain you want a full year, choose quarterly.

The one way out of an annual plan before its term ends is to return goods under the 30-day return window in our Refund Policy. In short: you have 30 days from the day a delivery arrives, the goods must be unopened and in resaleable condition, return postage is at your cost, and a 20% restocking fee is deducted from the refund for the goods you send back. Deliveries we have not yet sent you are refunded in full, with no restocking fee. The Refund Policy governs โ€” read it there.

Outside that window your plan runs to the end of its term, and you decline the next year at renewal as set out above.

None of this limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If something is faulty, damaged, unsafe, not as described, or we sent the wrong thing, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund, we pay the return freight, and no restocking fee applies.

Pausing and changes

If something changes โ€” you are going away, you are moving house, your lawn needs something different โ€” contact us at hello@thelawniq.com and tell us as early as you can. We can often move a delivery, adjust what is on your plan, or pause a quarterly plan. Tell us at least 7 days before a scheduled delivery, because we pick, pack and book freight ahead of time.

These are things we look at case by case and may agree to. They are not rights under this policy, and on an annual plan a pause or a change does not shorten or end the committed 12-month term.

Refunds

Cancelling stops future payments; it does not by itself refund a payment already taken, because you still receive the delivery that payment covers. The one route to a refund part way through a term is the 30-day return window in our Refund Policy, which applies to subscription deliveries exactly as it does to any other order.

If a delivery arrives damaged, incomplete or incorrect, that policy covers it too, and nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Failed payments

Your payment details are stored securely by our payment provider. You authorise us to charge your nominated payment method in advance on your billing cycle until the subscription ends.

If a scheduled payment fails, we retry it and email you so you can update your payment details. After 3 payments in a row have failed we pause the plan. Pausing stops billing, and with it your deliveries.

We never cancel a plan for non-payment. A pause keeps your schedule and your place in it: update your payment details and the plan picks up from where it stopped. We will never keep charging a card that has told us to stop.

Your rights

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law. See our Refund Policy.
