Overview
Acelepryn GR controls lawn grubs and damaging surface-feeding insects for up to 3 months from a single application. Targets the nervous system of the pest species named on the label.
Active Ingredients
Chlorantraniliprole 2 g/kg
Classification: Systemic insecticide (Ryanodine Receptor Modulator). Provides selective pest control.

Both approved labels give the same rate. For beetle larvae, Argentinian Scarab, Argentine Stem Weevil and Billbug: 0.75–1.5 kg per 100 m² (75–150 kg per hectare), the higher rate for early-season application, long residual protection or high pest pressure. For caterpillars — lawn armyworm, black cutworm, sod webworm — the rate is 0.75 kg per 100 m² only, half the grub rate. The professional label (85185/136493) adds the restraint: do not apply more than 280 kg of product per hectare per year.
How to Apply
- Apply Acelepryn GR evenly over the lawn using a broadcast or handheld spreader.
- Best applied when pests are laying eggs (typically late spring and early autumn) or when young larvae are active.
- Water in immediately with approximately 6 mm of rainfall or irrigation within 48 hours to move the product into the soil where larvae feed.
- Protection builds over 7–10 days as the product reaches peak efficacy.
- Protection lasts up to 3–5 months depending on pest pressure and weather.
Important Information
- Timing: Apply in late spring (Sept–Oct) and early autumn (Feb–March) when beetles and weevils are most active, or when you observe pest damage emerging.
- Activation: Must be watered in within 48 hours with at least 6 mm irrigation or rainfall. Granules work in soil, not on foliage.
- Mowing: May mow before or after application. No mowing restrictions.
- Grass types: Safe on all lawn grass types including couch, kikuyu, buffalo, and ryegrass.
- Safety directions: The approved label states "May irritate the eyes, avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands after use." The approved label does not state a re-entry period. Always follow the label directions.
Regulatory Information
Syngenta registers this granule as two separate products with two approved labels. Read the APVMA number printed on your bag and use that label.

Withholding period — 85185/136493: "DO NOT GRAZE TREATED TURF/LAWN OR FEED TURF/LAWN CLIPPINGS FROM ANY TREATED AREA TO POULTRY OR LIVESTOCK"
Withholding period — 91903/133914: That label states no headed withholding period. Under CAUTION it states: "DO NOT feed grass clippings from treated areas to poultry or other animals."
Safety directions (both): "May irritate the eyes, avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands after use."
First aid (both): "First Aid is generally not required. If in doubt, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone 131 126."
Protection of wildlife, fish, crustaceans and environment: "Very toxic to aquatic life. DO NOT contaminate wetlands or watercourses with this product or used containers."
